THE LONG SONG
Bravo Television, 2007
Three world-class performers are brought together for a remarkable musical collaboration in Montreal, a city renowned for its vibrant cultural mix. For three weeks they rehearse compositions based on the 'long song', a form of singing unique to Mongolia, and then give a public performance at The Chapelle Historique du Bon-Pasteur. The participants are Khongorzul Ganbaatar, a long song vocalist from Mongolia; Liu Fang, a Chinese lute player now living in Canada; and Yegor Dyachkov, a classically-trained cellist born in Russia but now also living in Canada.
